From Streat Palermo to Streaty!

Our story begins in 2013 when Marco Romeo launch the very first city food tour in Palermo, his hometown. The original brand was called StrEat Palermo Tour. Our Big Bang was not a business plan. It all started from Marco’s passion for food and travels. The passion ingredients came up and brought StrEat Palermo to a big success, appearing on the top food and travel magazines around the world (see clients&press). Following the successful Streat Palermo tour experience, Marco decided to expand the brand by covering more cities. In 2015 Marco launched the Streat Catania brand. In 2017 the office grew top and we decided to rebrand the business with  a more catchy name: Streaty! We now run street food walking tours in Palermo, Catania, Venice, Florence and Naples.

Our Vision

Streaty tours want to become a leading promoter of a new form of tourism based on the respect for locals’ and Mother Nature’s life.

Our Mission

We want bring travelers’ attention to real authentic gems of traditional Italian cuisine, where vendors are not merely seen as food suppliers. Indeed, we see them as authentic ambassadors of the Italian cucina povera. Our mission is to support small family-run businesses and save Italian street food traditions, whose existence is nowadays threatened by the aggressive mass tourism and the unregulated expansion of global food chains.

How we do it

  • Laid back attitude: We walk travellers around as they were friends visiting us in town. We share with foodies the same tips and stories we would share with our friends without filters of any kind.
  • Food as beating heart of Italian culture: We see food as the beating heart of our culture, carrying in its flavors memories from the past and unveiling the intimate secrets of locals’ daily life. Take a look at our Venice street food tour and know more about what we offer!
  • Italian guides: We are all Italian and passionate about our native city and its cuisine. We do not discriminate foreign guides. We simply believe that the best thing that a guide can give to travelers is his innate and unfiltered knowledge of a place given by his life experiences.
  • Respect of Tourism legislation: Unlike many other competitors, we have all the required business licenses and operate in compliance with the Italian Tourism Law.
  • Be better to be the best: we do not believe we are the best guides in the world, in fact, we don’t want to be so.  We believe that the only way to do BEST is by doing BETTER. For this reason we constantly train our skills and increase our knowledge by organizing regular meetings and workshops. We measure our performance based on travelers’ feedbacks.
